Up for auction today I have my latest restored Harley. This one is a 1971 FX Super glide Boattail in Sparkling America Burch White. Vin number is 2C21085H1, with matching Title numbers, Motor numbers, and Frame numbers. It has matching Belly numbers 171-12295 with right case number 24563-70, and left case number 24541-70. Right case date is 3/71, Left case has no date. When I bought this bike, I didn’t know that it was a stroker. I installed new Flywheels, Rods, Pistons, Andrews Cam, and new bearings to put it back to original 74 CI. I ground and lapped the valves and installed all new gaskets and seals. I removed the S & S carburetor and installed an original rebuilt Bendix carb. The trans was checked out with no problems found and new seals and gaskets installed. The frame, swing arm, fear wheel hub and brake plate plus most smaller black parts were powder coated. The Rocker covers, Primary cover, and Kicker cover were buffed. The original cam cover, exhaust pipe, handle bars, fork legs, and chain guard were re-chromed. The bike has the original seat (with no holes, rips or tears) Front Fender, Gas Tanks, Boattail Rear Fender, Rear Pegs, Front and Rear Reflectors, Brake and Shifter Parts. The inner rear fender has been modified to fit as original. This bike has been painted back to the original Sparkling America Burch White with all the correct decals on the Tanks, Fenders, Boattail, Headlight Cover, Lower Fork Cover, Point Plate, and Tank #1 Panel. New parts that have been installed include: Tires, tubes, rims, stainless spokes, wheel bearings, brake and clutch handles, cables, brake pads, rear master cylinder, rear brake cylinder, shocks, speedo, regulator, muffler, horn, front and rear pegs, fork tubes, springs, and dampers. I have a clean and clear Michigan title in my name. I have restored over 10 of these Sparkling America Boattail bikes. They are in private collections around this country and in some other countries around the world. This may be the last one I will ever restore. I am running out of the rare parts, and they are getting to be very hard to find. Everything on this bike has been checked and is ready to go. All wiring checked, carb set to factory settings, timing set. The bike does not have any gas or oil installed. It has never been started. It is ready to start if you want to ride just add fluids, check for any minor gas leaks and start it. (I am 77 and can’t kick start these kick only bikes anymore) If you plan on putting this in your museum or private collection it is ready. Also, for you Harley collectors. The next bike I am doing will be done in a couple months. It is this bikes big brother. A 1971 FLH in Sparkling America White. (Elvis had one similar to the one I am doing) If you have any questions, please ask and I will do my best to get you a speedy answer.
