This Custom Bobber5 A A10 olden Flash 650cc Plunger 1954 Motorcycle has been fully rebuilt to its former glory.
Reluctant Sale. I had intended to keep this bike, but no longer riding due to age and injury, so now selling.

This Custom Bobber5 A A10 olden Flash 650cc Plunger 1954 Motorcycle has been fully rebuilt to its former glory.

LONG TIME RESTORATION Started 1994. (And put on hold for 25 years)
HEART OF THE ENGINE.
Crankshaft reground
New Crankshaft roller bearing (left hand side)
New Crankshaft Bush (timing side)
Sludge trap cleaned .
Crankshaft end float taken up + 0.05″
Cylinder barrels rebored +0.60″
New Con Rods, New Pistons, rings etc.
New big end and small end bushes (shells)
Changed cylinder head for Ariel Huntmaster cylinder head, looks the same as BSA, and no difference internally , Except now has bigger bore exhausts, so exhaust are .now a push over fit as opposed to push in fitment. Looks better ,Runs better, Sounds better.
Used Bike for about 1500 miles then taken off the road In 1998 ,due to other bikes and life..
PUT ON HOLD FOR 25 YEARS OR SO.
THIS HAD A REALLY GOOD ENGINE NOW, / JUST NEEDED TO DO THE REST OF THE BIKE.
RESTORATION RESTARTED 5 YEARS AGO . Decided 70’s style custom look was the way to go.

New Reconditioned Dynamo
New Lucas Electronic Magneto Conversion. (Great Spark).
New SRM Oil pump.
New Clutch (plain and driving plates)
New Solid state regulator.
New Battery, New Battery box and strap.
New Exhaust clamps / fins.
New AMAL Monobloc 376 Carburettor
New wiring loom and switches etc
New crankcase breather
New Kickstart Rachet pinon
New Kickstart and Gear levers
Stainless engine and gearbox allen bolt set
Gearbox nuts chromed.

Frame, Yokes, Engine plates, front footrests , wheels, powered coated in satin black
Front forks replaced with Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster Twin disc front end .(BSA that now stops😊)
Head race Taper roller conversion
New 1″Stainless handlebars
Risers chromed. New Sundance handlebar grips
New brake master cylinder cover.
New us spec A65 Chrome petrol tank with original tank badges , not cheap foreign crap, and new fuel tap.
New handmade Custom seat ,with stainless base
New Headlight and Tail light,
New No. Plate
Regulator box chromed.
New Horn.
Oil tank chromed and new cap.
New engine bolts.
All brackets handmade in stainless steel polished.
Rear mudguard chromed
PLUNGER SUSPENSION COMPLETE OVERHAUL.
New plunger rods , bushes and springs,(springs ,nuts and bolts chromed )
New rear wheel and chainwheel bearings
Rear wheel hangers chromed
Top nuts custom stainless
Stainless steel rear wheel spindle ,nuts and spacer ,hub cover etc.
New footrest rubbers etc.
New rear brake shoes
New drive chain
New cables
Custom chrome bsa rear footrests
Lots and lots of other small parts too many to mention, lots of attention to detail.

V5 Log book up to date in my name. (it say’s on the logbook there are 3 former owners, it should really say 1 owner , I made the mistake of not ticking the right boxes, when changing address a couple of times and they came back, as me being a new owner each time, as you can see from the logbook .I have owned this bike for 43 years approx.
Since rebuild only done about 400 miles ,runs lovely , sounds lovely and engine oil tight .If it needed doing it’s been done.
Lots of receipts from 1994 on to today. Lots of stainless and chrome parts.
Over £6,OOO spent on rebuild and restoration, as I said, I was going to keep this, but sadly no longer riding and bike now needs to go to a good home.
For sale price £7,750.00 or a very near offer might be considered .
Had this bike for over 40 years in one guise or another, wish I’d done it sooner.
In my opinion this is what BSA could have done with a little imagination
PS. Only thing that needs doing , is a new speedo cable, the one on the bike ,which runs form the gearbox melted on the exhaust, it would be better to run it from the front wheel drive connector instead, thus alleviating this stupid problem, wish I’d thought of it first.
One fin on bottom of barrels small break.
Age related wear bike is 72 years old, but nearly everything has been replaced any way , so ready for another 72 years.
