This is a beautiful example of the very last of the Shovelheads – a 1985. Most accounts put the production numbers at 269. There is not a lot known about the 1985 FLHs, I have read that they were an order for a police department that didn’t want the EVO motor or just that they were made from left over parts. Some accounts claim that they were made from EVO engine cases -it’s possible, note there is no number boss on the RH case in front of the lifter base. The clutch is the EVO type diaphragm (a huge upgrade in my opinion). These last 1985s were all deluxe police bikes so they had rear belt drive and the frame was machined to accept a seat post. The bike was originally Birch White but currently looks splendid in black. The bike runs perfectly and is incredibly smooth (much smoother than my 1986 EVO), transmission is 4 speed (stock). The bike comes with the optional two up frame mounted seat with backrest and handrail, the original police style tour pack, mufflers, and the original windshield. There is currently an S&S carburetor on the bike but also included is the original carburetor and air filter. I can’t ship the bike but I will help any way I can on my end. If you have never used a shipper, I can assure you it’s pretty easy and very cost effective.
