1974 & 1973 Kawasaki Z1 Barn Finds Selling two Kawasaki Z1 motorcycles – both bikes are not running and have not run for a long time! The brown one is a 1974 and does have a clean Florida title now in my name, the blue one is a 1973 and does not have a title. We purchased these bikes from the second owner of the 1974 Z1 who purchased the bike in 1976 from the original owner. He rode it from 1976 until around 2003 when he was injured (not a bike accident) and could no longer ride it. According to him, the bike ran fine when it was parked back in 2003. He had come across the 1973 Z1 many years ago and decided to buy it as a parts bike in case he ever needed parts for his 1974 Z1. We also acquired all kinds of spare parts/goodies for Z1’s and KZ10100’s that the previous owner accumulated over the past couple decades (see all photos).
We are hoping to be able to pass these bikes and all parts along to someone who needs them or is willing to restore the bikes back to their original glory. These bikes and parts are being auctioned as one package, we will NOT be separating or parting anything out separately. So the successful buyer will be getting everything shown in the photos and will be responsible for taking everything! We did our best to capture everything in the 40 photos allows with these listings. Also, both engines on these bikes are not stuck and have compression – see videos of each engine being kicked over. Please note that the 1974 Z1 has a 1015cc cylinder (see photo). Please keep in mind these bikes are 50 years old, many of these parts are also the same age! We sincerely appreciate your time to check out this auction! PAYMENT: A $500.00 DEPOSIT is due within 48 hours of winning the auction (see “Payment” tab for payment terms/requirements). The balance is due in full within 7 days after the auction has ended. The bikes/parts cannot leave our premises until all funds have been fully transferred/deposited/cleared. SHIPPING: THIS AUCTION IS FOR LOCAL PICK UP ONLY. Please note that the buyer will be responsible for all shipping requirements/costs from Merritt Island, Florida including the selection of the shipper. Good luck and happy bidding! On Feb-19-24 at 08:09:28 PST, seller added the following information:CLARIFICATION/UPDATE: We were told by the previous owner that these bikes were a 1974 (Brown one w/title) and a 1973 (Blue one w/o title). After doing more research on the frame and engine numbers, it appears that the Blue one is NOT a 1973 Z1, it is also a 1974 Z1. Our apologies (we were not trying to deceive anyone) we should have verified this before the listing and it appears we are not allowed to go back and change the original description now that a bid has been submitted. Here are the VIN#’s and ENGINE #’s: 1) 1974 Z1 (Brown Bike) Frame & Title VIN# Z1F28487, Engine# Z1E28622, 2) 1974 (not 1973) Z1 (Dark Blue No Title) Frame# Z1F44426, Engine# Z1E044555. Please do not hesitate to ask any other questions or share any concerns. We have received several offers to buy these bikes, however, we will allow the auction to proceed. The reserve is reasonable and covers only what we have paid for these bikes/parts plus title fee & some travel expenses. Thank you & good luck.On Feb-22-24 at 13:38:32 PST, seller added the following information:UPDATE: Hey Folks, we had two bidders possibly playing games with our listing … perhaps to try and determine what the reserve was or possibly to try and sabotage our listing. If you have no intentions to be a serious bidder, we respectfully ask that you not participate in this auction as it can raise concerns on the part of legitimate bidders. Two bidders retracting their bids just seems a bit “fishy” to us and we have not experienced this in the past. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns and good luck to all of you serious bidders on these bikes. Thank you for looking!
